In addition to being the Co-owner of Insomnia Coffee, Tyler has been a part of the Hillsboro, Oregon community since 2005 as a barista, event coordinator, entrepreneur, volunteer, musician and employer. He serves as a Director on the Board of the Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets as well as Emeritus Board Member of the Washington County Chamber . Even though Tyler grew up on the East Coast, Hillsboro is now home and he enjoys putting his efforts into community development.
Fine Art has become Tyler’s passion, beginning in 2015. While finding his voice and building his aesthetic, he’s found a freedom and excitement in the activity of this creative outlet. Painting has become a stress release, therapeutic practice and conduit for self-learning and exploration.
Tyler’s inspiration comes from movement, texture, muted color and depth. His work features drips, scribbles, strokes and splats in a unique combination to evoke emotion, interest and comfort. Commission work has become a joy for Tyler as well, painting pieces specifically with clients in mind.
